Implant-Supported Dentures can Permanently Restore Your Smile

Tooth loss not only affects your mental well-being and quality of life, but it can also have a negative impact on your oral and physical health. When missing teeth are not immediately replaced, jawbone deterioration can occur, putting you at higher risk for other oral health issues. At our Las Vegas, NV, practice, Drs. Wade and Wayne Wagner can create lifelike dentures for patients missing multiple teeth or an entire dental arch. Our doctors encourage patients to consider the benefits offered by implant-supported dentures. Unlike traditional dentures, an implant-supported restoration provides a permanent and natural-looking solution to restoring your smile. In addition, these permanent restorations are unrivaled in terms of stability and support.

Because dental implants fuse with the jawbone and serve to replace the root of the tooth, they are considered to be unrivaled in stability and support.

What is an Implant-Supported Denture?

Dental implants are small metal posts that are surgically inserted in your jawbone. Once these posts have fused with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration, dentures can be attached to the posts as a long-lasting solution to missing teeth. Your natural teeth are designed to stimulate your jaw through chewing and biting, keeping the jawbone healthy and functioning. When you have missing teeth, the jawbone atrophies and weakens, leading you to experience pain, changes to your facial structure, poor diet, and a weakened immune system. To protect your long-term oral health, Dr. Wagner may recommend dental implants to secure an implant-supported restoration. Each denture is made from high-quality, durable dental materials in a state-of-the-art lab, where they are designed to look and function like your natural teeth.

Designing Your Restoration

During your initial consultation, Dr. Wagner will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your oral health concerns, cosmetic goals, and what you hope to accomplish. Using advanced technology, he will perform a detailed examination and review your oral and physical health. Once a treatment plan has been formulated, he will either place the implants himself or refer you to a trusted oral surgeon, depending on your unique case. A temporary restoration may be placed at this time.

Unlike traditional dentures, an implant-supported restoration provides a permanent and natural-looking solution to restoring your smile.

Approximately four to six months following dental implant surgery, Dr. Wagner can take digital impressions of your teeth to create your customized restoration. Using the finest materials, your implant-supported denture will be fabricated to match the natural shape and size of your smile. It will take approximately two weeks for your denture to be created by our trusted off-site lab. After we receive your restoration from the lab, Dr. Wagner can permanently attach it to your dental implants.
